We invited schools and organizations to lend a “paw” to help Kansas City’s homeless pets by participating in the 4th annual metro-wide Fetch Fur Pets Contest. NBC Action News Chief Meteorologist Gary Lezak will honor the top two schools/organizations during the 10th Annual Kansas City Pet Telethon on Sunday, March 14, 2010. In addition to the three-minute live segment during the Telethon, the top two winners will be featured during a two-minute commercial slot. Students were encouraged to be as creative as they like to raise funds for the animals. And the winners of the Fetch Fur Pets Contest are: Bentwood Elementary came in 1st place with $1,000 through a bake sale. Liberty View Elementary came in 2nd place with $856 through a pet photo contest. Be sure to tune in to see them!
